More than 2 decades of running a small local tour operator in Mae Hong Son. We have been working closely with diffirent ethnic minorities in the area to promote Community Based Tourism to international tourism market. The founder "Panot Pakongsup" or "Tang" formerly graduated in Bachalor of Arts in industrial design from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) since 1996.

During my time studied in Melbourne, I worked in the Thai restaurants and later on openned own Thai restaurant with friends and of course started to travel around Melbourne and Australia.

May 1999: Time to come back to Thailand for good! After arrived then time to work for family business (construction business) as assistant project manager in Mae Hong Son where the contract for housing commission were.

2001: What a year of unfortunate for Thailand economy. Facing the economic crisis, the construction project was paused. Then it was time to survive by openned up a small local restaurant in Mae Hong Son named "Kin's House".

2002, the Mae Hong Son community college was conducting the tour guide training course.

The light was shined again and it was the first time "Tour Merng Tai" found and end up with tourism business in Thailand since then. During this year, TMT was invited and attended the CBT training program at Ban Huay Hee in Mae Hong Son with participants from Asia and Pacific country. The CBT training program was hosted by RECOFT and REST (now is CBT-i). It was the time for TMT to learn and understand the responsible and sustainable tourism.Our mission is to show a different side of local cultures, local experiences and beautiful untouched natures to travellers from around the globe.
